SBA Disbursement Coordinator
Summary:
The SBA Disbursement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the post-approval phase of SBA-backed loans by managing construction and multi-advance disbursements, documentation, collateral perfection, and regulatory compliance. This role works closely with Business Development Officers, Loan Operations, borrowers, contractors, title companies, and third-party vendors to ensure complete, accurate, and timely disbursement and servicing of SBA and other government-guaranteed loan types.
Job Functions:
- Process SBA 7(a), 504, SBA Express, and other government-guaranteed loan types from initial disbursement through final funding.
- Set up and maintain loan disbursement files for construction and multi-advanced loans, ensuring documentation meets FBOL, SBA, and regulatory procedures.
- Review, analyze, and disburse loan draws in accordance with guidelines, obtaining necessary approvals from management.
- Monitor loan and equity budgets against bank records for construction and multi-advance loans, ensuring accuracy, proper allocation, and timeline adherence.
- Collect, track and maintain all required insurance documentation; process loan modification requests as needed.
- Maintain and organize loan documentation — both electronic and physical — ensuring readiness for audits, quality control, and compliance reviews.
- Order and assess third-party inspection reports and title endorsements for construction projects, addressing discrepancies with borrowers, contractors, title companies, or internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with borrowers, contractors, and vendors to resolve deficiencies in documentation and remove disbursement barriers.
- Ensure all disbursement and documentation activities comply with SBA SOPs, banking regulations, and internal policies.
- Record loans into the bank’s loan servicing system, ensuring accuracy of loan terms, collateral records, data entry, and system details.
- Work collaboratively with all internal departments to support effective servicing of the loan portfolio.
- Communicate loan status, outstanding requirements, draw schedules, and timelines to borrowers, internal teams, and external partners.
- Coordinate with Business Development Officers, credit, operations, title companies, attorneys, and third-party service providers.
- Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in commercial loan operations, SBA processing/servicing, loan documentation, or similar lending environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to work within loan documentation and servicing systems.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Work Arrangement:
- This position is remote.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
