VP Deposit Product Manager
Summary:
The Deposit Product Manager is responsible for the entire lifecycle of deposit products, from initial concept and market research to product launches, product-led growth, improvements, and ongoing optimization. Focus includes deposit accounts, card portfolios (physical, contactless, and virtual), mobile wallets, P2P products, health savings accounts and real-time payments including FedNow. This role will ensure these products are customer-centric, innovative, frictionless, profitable and comply with regulations.
Focus on improving the design of the product, clearly defining the role of the product within the larger portfolio, and the quality of staff knowledge around the product, successful financial performance will be a natural byproduct.
Job Functions:
- Product Strategy
- Develop and maintain a clear product vision, roadmap, and go-to-market strategy for deposit products with a primary focus on Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) product models.
- Fintech Card Strategy
- Monitoring Fintech card programs and assisting BaaS partners with launching program products including card implementation tasks such as ordering BINs (and BIN range extensions), card art, engaging card networks, verify tokenization with digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.)
- Fulfilling third-party vendor management tasks for card vendors and networks.
- Acting as a knowledge resource for Fintech product questions and education on corresponding bank policies for their programs.
- Market Research Analysis
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify customer needs, competitor offerings, and emerging trends for both legacy and online client channels. Ensure each deposit product suite has its own profit and loss (P&L) accounting for Executive Management.
- Product Development and Launch
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop, launch, and optimize deposit products and pricing strategies including fee structure and operating margins. Perform product risk assessments to plan for and mitigate risk. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote deposit products and generate leads.
- Operational Maintenance
- Ultimately responsible for settlement, billing, reporting, and other back-office functions required by card networks and other payment platforms
- Customer Experience
- Focus on improving customer experience by understanding their deposit product needs and payment preferences. This includes product training for customer -facing sales staff.
- Performance Monitoring
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze benchmarking data to measure product performance, pricing, product-level profitability and identify areas for improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with various departments, including marketing, sales, technology, and operations, to ensure smooth product delivery, productivity and ongoing success.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure deposit products comply with all applicable regulations and policies.
- Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank.
Education/Experience:
Proficiency with Fiserv’s deposit core and off-core ledger specifications preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of deposit products and services: Extensive working knowledge of deposit products, such as account options, debit card portfolio, P2P, mobile wallets, and real-time payment rails.
- Customer-centric approach: Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into frictionless product features and real-time payment rails.
- Analytical and problem solving skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop solutions to challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Project management skills: Ability to plan, execute, and manage product development projects.
- Industry experience: Previous experience in banking and financial services. Experience launching card programs in a BaaS environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience with payment platforms, card network offerings, product billing, and industry KPIs.
- Excellent social and communication skills

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Work Arrangement:
- This position is remote
- Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
